Our commitment
Eden Budget is committed to making the Service usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 at the AA level, and we strive to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and, where applicable to government users, Section 508 standards. We treat accessibility as an ongoing practice, not a one-time audit.
We design with the assumption that a person using a screen reader, a keyboard-only setup, a switch device, voice control, or a high-contrast theme should be able to do every important task: review balances, add a transaction, assign money, link or revoke a bank, change a payee rule, manage a subscription, and read a report.
Current conformance
Eden Budget claims partial conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA as of the date above. Most pages meet the standard; some areas, especially complex interactive widgets such as the transaction row's inline editors, the budget assignment grid, and the chart visualizations on the Reports page, are still being refined. We are working to bring every screen into full conformance and we publish accessibility-relevant fixes alongside other releases.
What we have built in
- Semantic HTML. Pages use real headings, lists, buttons, labels, and form controls. Decorative elements are marked aria-hidden so they do not announce.
- Keyboard support. Primary flows are designed to work without a mouse: Tab and Shift+Tab move focus, Enter and Space activate controls, arrow keys navigate menus and the transaction grid, and the digit keys 1-7 set transaction flags. Escape closes many pop-overs and dialogs today, and we are actively extending Escape handling and focus trapping to every remaining dialog (see the known limitations below). Selected items show a visible focus ring.
- Color contrast. Body text and primary buttons meet WCAG AA contrast minimums (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and graphical controls). Link text near body copy is differentiated by both color and underline so the cue is not color-only.
- Scaling. The interface remains usable when text is scaled to 200% in modern browsers and when the page is zoomed to 400% on a 1280-wide viewport.
- Reduced motion. Animations honor the prefers-reduced-motion media query. Users who set this preference see static states instead of motion.
- Focus management. Newer dialogs trap focus while open; we are migrating the remaining dialogs to the same shared, focus-trapping implementation so that focus is always moved into an opened dialog and returned to the trigger on close. The skip-to-content link at the top of the page lets keyboard users bypass the sidebar.
- Forms. Every form control has a programmatic label. Error messages reference the field they describe.
Assistive-technology compatibility
Eden Budget has been informally tested with the following combinations. Compatibility may vary with browser and device, and we welcome reports of issues we have not yet observed.
- NVDA with Firefox or Chrome on Windows.
- JAWS with Chrome on Windows.
- VoiceOver with Safari on macOS, and VoiceOver with Safari on iOS.
- TalkBack with Chrome on Android.
- Voice Control on macOS and Dragon NaturallySpeaking on Windows.
Known limitations
- Some chart visualizations on the Reports page do not yet expose a screen-reader-friendly text alternative; a data-table fallback is on the roadmap. In the meantime, the underlying numbers are available through the standard report-export controls.
- The drag-to-assign interaction on the budget page requires a keyboard alternative that is in development. The numeric inline-edit fields on the same page already work today and provide a fully keyboard-driven path to the same outcome.
- Some older dialogs do not yet trap keyboard focus or close on Escape. They are being migrated to the shared dialog component that does both; until that migration completes, those dialogs remain fully operable with Tab and the visible Close button.
- Receipt previews render the source image directly; alt text relies on the file name you upload at the time. We plan to add an explicit alt-text field on upload.
- Third-party services we embed for billing (PayPal, Helcim) load inside isolated frames. Their accessibility behavior is governed by those providers' own implementations; report issues to their support channels in addition to ours.
Third-party content
Embedded third-party content (for example, a payment processor's checkout iframe) is not under our direct control. We choose providers who publish accessibility commitments and we surface any provider-side issues we become aware of. If you experience a barrier inside a third-party frame, please tell us as well as the provider so we can advocate on your behalf.
Reasonable accommodations and alternative formats
If a part of the Service is not accessible to you, contact support@edenbudget.com and we will work with you on a reasonable accommodation. This may include providing information in an alternative format (plain text, large print, screen-reader-friendly export), walking you through a task one-on-one, or temporarily performing an action on your behalf where doing so does not compromise security or third-party rights.
Feedback, complaints, and escalation
If you encounter a barrier or have a suggestion, email support@edenbudget.com. Please include the page or feature, the assistive technology you are using (or the way you are interacting with the Service), and a brief description of what happened and what you expected. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within five business days and to deliver a fix or a documented workaround within thirty days; structural changes may take longer, in which case we will tell you the planned timeline.
If an accessibility report is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may escalate by replying to our response with the subject line "Accessibility Escalation," or by writing to Eden Living LLC, 9905 S Pennsylvania Ave, Ste A, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. You retain any rights you have under applicable law, including the ADA and Section 504, regardless of this internal process.
How this statement is reviewed
We review this statement at least once per year, and after any change that materially affects accessibility (a redesign, a new feature, a known regression). The "Last reviewed" date at the top reflects the most recent review.
